A. DESCRIPTION
This online workshop will teach you the fundamentals of DJing- from taking your equipment straight out of the box to mixing your first 2 songs. You will learn the full setup of turntables, mixer, speakers, headphones, wiring, and basic mixing.
B. REQUIREMENTS
Turntables, mixer, headphones, and speakers are recommended but not required. The class begins “as if you have just purchased your equipment and have not even opened the box”.
Recommended Equipment:
-Preferably CDJ Turntables
-Basic 2 Channel Mixer
-DJ Headphones
-Speakers (Monitors)
-Power Cables, Audio Connection Cables
C. SPECIFIC TOPICS
-Wiring and setup of your CDJ turntables (or vinyl turntables)
-Wiring and setup of your Mixer
-Setup and connection of your monitors
-Proper Arrangement of speakers and equipment
-Basic functions of equipment
-Preparing to mix your first 2 songs
-Use of headphone cues – previewing a song through headphones while a song is playing out loud
-Open Questions Discussion- ask me anything
-Troubleshooting- what to do when things go wrong
